Amy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist from Carrollton, GA. She uses an integrative approach, blending Mindfulness-based cognitive skills, Somatic (body-based) work, and emotion-focused skills to approach work with clients from a holistic perspective. She works with children, teens, adults, and families as they navigate the challenges that life presents. Amy has worked extensively with children, teens, and families experiencing chronic stress, trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, chronic pain, attachment wounds, OCD, and life transitions. She has worked closely with children and families in marginalized communities, particularly the LGBTQ+ community, the neurodivergent community, the disability community, and the BIPOC community. She has also helped many young people and families navigate gender issues and transitions. Amy received her bachelor’s in psychology from the University of West Georgia in 2013. She received her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Saybrook University in 2016. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy. She is provisionally certified in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy through the University of California San Diego’s Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. She is a CertifiedClinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Autplay Therapist. She is currently enrolled in certification for Somatic Experiencing, with an expected completion date of October 2025.
